Piano Instruction

Piano teaching is where artistry and discipline meet. I believe in nurturing both technical strength and musical expression from the very first lesson. Students learn how to play with confidence, accuracy, and feeling—building a foundation that supports any style of music they choose to pursue. Each lesson focuses on developing technique, sight-reading, rhythm, and phrasing while introducing the student to the beauty and depth of piano literature.

My approach is adaptable to all ages and levels, from young beginners discovering the keyboard to advanced students refining performance skills. I integrate method books, ear training, and creative exercises to make learning both structured and engaging. Alongside classical repertoire, students are encouraged to explore pieces that inspire them personally, helping them connect emotionally with their playing.

Beyond technique, I aim to help students find their own musical voice. Whether preparing for recitals, exams, or personal enjoyment, my goal is to create an environment that’s motivating, supportive, and musically enriching—one that instills not only skill but a lifelong appreciation for the piano.

"Mimi’s lessons not only helped my child become a great pianist, but also gain a deep love for music!" -Jackie L. (Irvine, CA)
