About Chiacheng Sen PhD aka "Mimi"
Dr. Mimi is an award-winning pianist and passionate educator whose students have performed at Carnegie Hall after winning the 2024 New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. Known for her gentle yet inspiring approach, she teaches students of all ages and levels—from young beginners learning their first notes to advanced performers preparing for competitions and conservatory auditions.
With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Dr. Mimi brings both exceptional training and decades of teaching experience to her students. She has worked with children, teens, and adults across private studios, schools, and colleges throughout California.
As a performer, Dr. Mimi has earned top prizes in major international competitions including the Charleston International Piano Competition, IMKA International Music & Dance Competition, and the North American International Virtuoso Music Competition, among many others. Her debut at Carnegie Hall and her award-winning albums Liebesfreud & Liebesleid and Unbelievable Lightness and Heaviness reflect her artistry and deep love for music.
